Dear friends,

I hope your new year has gotten off to a good start. I have much exciting news to share soon, but in this note would just like to mention a major recent event. Last week I jumped in for Yefim Bronfman for a series of performances of Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Maestro Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. I got the call two days before the first concert, having to rush straight to the airport to get from New York to Europe in time for the rehearsals — and I hadn’t touched the piece in nearly six years.

It is always a privilege to perform with these extraordinary musicians, and a real honor to collaborate on this monumental work. The performances were a great success, and one of the Budapest concerts was filmed for broadcast on Mezzo and medici.tv. The film premieres on Tuesday, February 20, at 8pm CET (2pm ET) on medici and 9pm CET (3pm ET) on television on Mezzo. It will be available on demand online on medici, and will be rebroadcast regularly by Mezzo, with the schedule available on the channel website. I hope you will be able to catch the broadcast!

Kind regards,

Nicolas
